But they did sign free-agent linebacker Jamie Winborn to their active roster. He’ll replace rookie defensive end Tim Jamison, who returns to the practice squad two games after he was first activated.

The 5-11, 230-pound Winborn was a second-round pick of the San Francisco 49ers out of Vanderbilt in 2001. He spent five seasons with the Niners, one with Jacksonville, one with Tampa Bay and the last two with Denver. He played in all 16 games for the Broncos in 2008, making 11 starts. Winborn signed with Atlanta over the offseason but was released by the Falcons in their final cut at the end of the preseason.
